S.S. Strathallan Souvenir Powder Compact
Lovely Ladies Souvenir Powder Compact from the Peninsular & Orient Steam Navigation Co Liner S.S.Strathallan. The compact measures 2 5/8 " square. The Strathallan was launched in 1938 and was torpedoed and sunk when operating as a transport vessel by U Boat 4562 on 21st December 1942.. Having been in operation as a passenger liner for such a very short period souvenir items from the vessel are likely very scarce.
