THE WAR ILLUSTRATED was issued as a weekly news paper (11" x 8.5") by subscription ,from September 16th 1939 through to April 12th 1945. It was later issued fortnightly rather than weekly). Each issue has on average around 32 pages of photographs, maps, and articles on the wars progress.This is probably the most comprehensive coverage of World War Two available, covering all facets and theatres of the war. This COMPLETE SET of Nine Volumes is in as close to Mint Condition as you could get for a set of bound newspaper volumes aged from 62 - 70years. THERE IS SOME VERY MINOR AGE SPOTTING...MAINLY NEAR THE FRONT PICTURES, AND SOME SLIGHT AGE BROWNING TO EDGES OF PAPER, BUT REALLY THE QUALITY IS MAGNIFICENT FOR AGE.
