This is the Eighth Edition Published at THE CLARENDON PRESS, Oxford, England. The book really is in close to Mint Condition.....clean, tight, and free of age spotting...has owners signature on frontal piece dated 28/2/1898.The book deals with the oldest stage of the English Language as it was pre the Norman Conquest....or ANGLO-SAXON.....in this book only the WEST-SAXON dialect in it's earliest form is dealt with. A rather fascinating book for scholars of the early English language.
