Fantastic Victorian Era 'Panorama des Rheins' Ornate Fold-out of The Rhine River
What a fantastic piece of travel material this is......it is I think Circa 1880 or possibly earlier....no vehicles in sight....steamers and trains are seen and the dress of the people is very, very old fashioned. This Concertina Fold-out of THE RHINE VALLEY is 12" x 6 3/4" and comes with a 24 page INDEX and a small 28 page folio of pictures. The front page is completely detached but can obviously be re-attached.One half of the last fold-out lithograph is torn and missing most of it. out over 6 feet. The first introductory page on the map is done in German, English, and French. Wonderfully ornate lithographs endow this piece...a real gem!
