US Air Force Boeing E-3B Sentry tail code AK/ 75-0560. USAF 962nd Airborne Air Control Squadron (962nd AACS), stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) Alaska. Commonly known as AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) the E-3s were derived from the Boeing 707-300 airliner Originally formed in 1943 as the 862d Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), the squadron was redesignated as the 962nd Airborne Warning and Control Squadron (AWACS) in 1985. The E-3 Sentry's began USAF operations in 1986 and are due to be replaced in 2027. Diecast metal model with some and plastic components. Undercarriage is fixed extended, and a display stand is included. Approx. 23.5cm x 22.5cm (9.25" x 8.75").
