A Cloth Patch for the Marine Aircraft Group 12 (includes Marine Air Base Squadron 12).MARINE AIR BASE SQUADRON 12 - Chu Lai Deploying from Japan in May 1965, MAG 12 were based throughout their initial stay in Vietnam at Chu Lai - They served two separate tours of duty in support of Ground Infantry Troops of the USMC - MAG 12 were the main Aircraft Group in Support of the 101st Airborne and the USMC in the re-capture of Hue City after the Tet Offensive of 1968 and in the relief of ground troops during the siege at Khe Sanh. Shipping back to Japan in February 1970 they were back in Vietnam in May 1972 = They were based at Bien Hoa and returned to Japan in January 1973 ...MAG 12 remains based in Japan today.Measures - 4 x 3 inches - 9 x 7.5 cm's
