A Vintage Suitcase Sticker for The Grand Oriental Hotel - Colombo, Ceylon
Nice big old BIG baggage sticker from this well known old hotel in Colombo/....sticker measures 7" x 6" and is in near perfect condition. The Grand Oriental Hotel is within close proximity of the Colombo Harbour and has a history that spans over 125 years. Supposedly constructed for British soldiers in 1837, this was later handed over to the government and it still continues to offer the charming and traditional atmosphere it used to. Popular amongst the passengers who used to travel by sea as well as the locals from yester years. Colombo was a major stop over in the 1950's-60's for the liners carrying immigrants and tourists from the UK to Australia and New Zealand and this sticker will date to that time period.
