As a general rule the Rangatira (Chief) carried the mere (short club).
The mere was carried thrust into the girdle of the piupiu or in a special war belt.
The common characteristic of the mere is a flat, broad blade with a rounded end made sharp enough to split the skull of a man or cause deadly injury to the neck or ribs.
There is a matching Base available - engraving can be done on the front of the base.
