Messerschmitt Bf 110E-2 3U+KS of Luftwaffe third Gruppe, 8th Staffel, Zerstorergeschwader 26 ‘Horst Wessel’, Libya. The Bf 110 was built as a heavy fighter, but, developed into a formidable night fighter. The Bf 110s of ZG 26 were among the first sent to support operations in North Africa, initially tasked with providing fighter protection for Stuka dive bomber units.
