Focke-Wulf Fw 190A "Butcher Bird" Luftwaffe 9./JG 2 Richtofen, France. Major Siegfried Schnell. Formidable Fw 190 with a fierce armament package that earned it the nickname "Butcher Bird". Schnell scored his first victory in May 1940, had amassed 20 victories by November, and shot down 9 Spitfires in just 2 days in July 1941 to bring up 45 victories. In August 1942 he shot down five Spitfires to reach his 70th victory, making him an "ace-in-a-day" for the second time. Schnell had 93 victories when he was KIA in February 1944. Diecast metal construction with some plastic parts. Realistic surface details and pad printed markings. Sliding canopy and removable pilot figure. Limited Edition of 600. includes a display stand.
