John Nesbitt Counting Glass 8121 - Late 19th Century

Avery nice German Made COUNTING GLASS or Magnifier for JOHN NESBITT of Manchester UK . This comes in its original case and dates to around 1895-1900. Counting glasses such as this were made to determine the THREAD DENSITY in textiles in the Victorian/Edwardian periods. The Counting Glass is 5 1/2" in height and is 3" at its widest point. In excellent condition.
