An Early 1900's "In Mourning" Matchbox Cover or Holder Circa 1900

The Victorian 's and Edwardian 's were very much into' MOURNING memorabilia for their departed loved ones....especially in jewelery pieces such as brooches and pendants, rings etc. This is the first MATCHBOX Holder or cover that we have seen made specifically as a MOURNING ITEM.
